One of the worsts storm that Philippines has ever experienced hit last Saturday, September 26, 2009, and it hit hard.
I was in school that time and I didn't expect the light rain to turn into something so horrible. When classes were over, we were shocked to see the waist-level (for tall people) flood outside. Even with the strong rain and harsh winds, my friend and I decided to venture out because we feared that the flood might go higher (and we were right). Being short (my friend is tall, thank God) I had to tip-toe to be able make the flood waist-level for me and had to hold on to my friend. From UPM CAS building to the LRT (train station) is quite far so we really had a difficult time going there and my friend kept losing her slippers and to make it worst there were waves when cars and trucks pass by (my friend joked that we should have brought surfing boards --- we were laughing the whole way making jokes and laughing at ourselves)
By the time we reached the LRT station, both our umbrellas died on us and we were soaked and wet from head to toe. We had to ride the LRT looking like wet idiots with messy hair (I was wearing a white shirt and cargo pants).
We took our lunch at a mall because my mom told me not to go home yet because our first floor was already flooded. Mariel had to go home because her dad got her already (I knew later that they were stuck in traffic for a very long time). My mom still wouldn't allow me to go home because the streets were flooded. I had to spend 3 hours in National Bookstore, reading mangas in the kids section, cold and wet.
Then my mom texted me and told me to go home before the flood rose higher. I had to take the longer way to our house because the streets I usually use were flooded. People were panicking and there were car crashes happening, I had to run as fast as I could, the wind and rain slapping my face and to my utter horror, I got lost (I have bad sense of direction) but fortunately there were people who helped me and they led me to the right way.
I had to go ninja and climb other people's houses to be able to get to my house. I couldn't describe the relief I felt when I was finally home. We stayed on the second floor and third floor of the house for the night.

But others were not as luck as me ....
Please pray for those who lost their homes and families.
